‘s-HERTOGENBOSCH, Netherlands, Mar. 12, 2022–Jessica von Bredow-Werndl rode TSF Dalera BB to victory in the Dutch Masters World Cup Grand Prix Freestyle Saturday to earn an invitation to the championship Final and a chance for the world No. 1 partnership to add another title.

Jessica and the 15-year-old Trakehner mare scored 90.555%, the fifth result above 90% for the Olympic, World Equestrian Games and European Championship gold medal pair. The win put the duo at the top of the standing for Western Europe of which this was the last qualifier.

Jessica might have expected a bigger score, but as she pointed out later: “I decided a few years ago I don’t care too much about the score because I can’t influence it – the only thing I can influence is my riding and my performance and today Dalera was just incredible

“Technically I think it was the best Freestyle I’ve ever ridden, it felt so effortless and so smooth, there was not a single second when I was not 100% sure that we were going to make it!”

The only annual global championship is scheduled for Leipzig, Germany April 6-10. Jessica’s four previous Finals were on Unee BB and included three third place finishes.

This ride for Jessica, who earlier this week reported she is pregnant with her second child, was the 12th straight victory beginning with the Oympics in Tokyo last July and included a sweep of the European Championships in September. The duo were on Germany’s gold medal team at the 2018 World Equestrian Games.

Isabell Werth, who has already clinched a start as the defending champion by completing two previous World Cup qualifiers, placed second on DSP Quantaz on a score of 84.870%. The result for Isabell and the 12-year-old Germany Sport Horse stallion beat their previous best of 78.553% for the Short Grand Prix. The pair have a high score of 80.348% in the long form Grand Prix from 2020.

Sweden’s Patrik Kittel on Foprever Young HRH, a 10-year-old Westfalen mare, were third on 82.500%. This competition was only the third CDI for the pair and the first Big Tour musical performance and was enough to boost the rider into his eighth World Cup Final.

Great Britain’s Charlotte Fry of Great Britain and Dark Legend, 14-year-old KWPN gelding, were fourth on 82.325%,  %, also a personal best for the Short Grand Prix by beating their previous high mark of 74.526% set in December.
