WELLINGTON, Florida, Feb. 12, 2022–Benjamin Ebeling took over competing Indeed from his Olympic competitor father and posted the 14-year-old Danish Warmblood mare’s highest Grand Special score to win the Global Dressage Festival CDI4* Saturday.
Ben, 22, based at the family equestrian center in Moorpark, California scored 72.255% for the win, the highest non-freestyle result since his father, Jan Ebeling, began competing Indeed at Grand Prix three years ago.
Belgium’s Laurence Vanommeslaghe riding her Havalon posted a personal result of 72.106% for the highest placing except for a single freestyle in 13 international Big Tour starts in the past 4 1/2 years. Laurence had the biggest win of her career in Wellington’s CDI4* Friday Night Stars in a musical performance on Edison that earned her a career-high score of 79.115%.
Sarah Tubman and First Apple, the 2019 Pan American Games individual gold medalist partnership, placed third on 70.225% in the first CDI competition in their second year at Grand Prix.
