ACHLEITEN, Austria, June 11, 2021–Isabell Werth rode Emilio to victory in the CDI4* Grand Prix for the Special Friday while Victoria Max-Theurer on Abegglen won the Grand Prix for the Freestyle to put the Austrian rider on the path to a fifth Olympic Games.
Victoria, 35, and the 11-year-old Westfalen gelding, Austria’s top ranked combination, scored 72.696% for the win.
Belgium’s Laurence Roos on Fil Rouge placed second on 71.391% with Estelle Wettstein of Switzerland on West Side Story OLD third on 70.782%.
Isabell and Emilio, a 15-year-old Westfalen gelding, eighth ranked in the world, were awarded 77.348% to capture the Grand Prix for the Special.
Sweden’s Jeanna Hogberg and Lorenzo were runner-up on 73.761%. The Grand Prix was their second Big Tour competition since Jeanna took over the ride on the 15-year-old Bavarian gelding that Severo Jurado Lopez rode to fifth place for Spain at the 2016 Olympics.
Florian Bacher of Austria on Fidertraum was third on 72.674%
