HECKFIELD, England, May 13, 2021–Charlotte Dujardin rode Mount St. John Freestyle to the pair’s second highest score for a musical performance in winning the CDI3* Grand Prix Freestyle Thursday. Charlotte on Gio won the Grand Prix Special earlier Thursday.
In the first freestyle in almost a year and a half, the 2018 World Equestrian Games medalists scored 88.345% for the win. The highest freestyle result for Charlotte and the 12-year-old Hanoverian mare was 89.505% set in January 2020. One judge awarded the partnership more than 90%.
Gareth Hughes on KK Dominant was runnerup on 77.080%, surpassing the score of the only other Big Tour freestyle for the 12-year-old Oldenburg stallion of 74.590% set in France in 2019. Gareth on Sintano van Hof Olympia placed second to Charlotte and Gio in the Special.
Louise Anne Bell on Into the Blue placed third on 72.990%.
