MANNHEIM, Germany, April 30, 2021–Matthias Alexander Rath and the eight-year-old Oldenburg stallion Thiago GS won the Nürnberger Burg-Pokal Prix St. Georges Special to earn a berth in the Christmastime final of the German series for seven-to nine-year-old dressage horses.
Matthias and Thiago scored 73,341% in the second of 12 qualifiers for the Frankfurt final Dec. 16-19.
Ann-Christin Wienkamp and Finley, an eight-year-old Westfalen gelding, placed second on 72,927% with Matthias Bouten on the nine-year-old Rhinelander stallion Meggle’s Long Island in third on 72,805%.
The next qualifier is at Redefin May 7-9.
