KRONBERG, Germany, Dec. 20, 2020–Austria’s Sandra Nuxoll and Bonheur de la Vie won the Louisdor Prize German championship for Developing Grand Prix horses Sunday.
Sandra and the nine-year-old KWPN gelding (Bordeaux x Tuschinski) were awarded 77.140% for the victory in the competition for horses aged eight to 10 years old.
German Olympian Hubertus Schmidt on Denoix PCH, eight-year-old Oldenburg stallion, was second on 74.360%.
Dorothee Schneider, also a German Olympian, on First Romance, a 10-year-old Baden-Württemberg gelding, was third on 73.220@
Matthias Alexander Rath of Germany on Destacado FRH won the Nürnberger Burg-Pokal Prix St. Georges Special Final, the 29th year of the prestigious event.
Matthias and the seven-year-old Hanoverian stallion (Desperados x Londonderry) scored 76.268% for the victory in the championship of horses seven to nine years of age.
The victory came just five days after Totilas, the legendary black stallion, that was competed by Matthias for five years died of colic at the Shafhof, the home of the Linsenhoff/Rath family.
German Olympic team gold medal rider Dorothee Schneider was runner-up on Sisters Act MT OLD on 75.732%. Dorothee and the eight-year-old Oldenburg mare (Sandro Hit x Royal Diamond) won the preliminary competition Saturday.
Norway’s Isabel Freese on Fürsten-Look was third on 75.683%.
The 2020 European Under-25 Championship individual gold medalist Ann-Kathrin Lindner on FBW Sunfire captured the Piaff Award U25 Grand Prix 75.500%.
All three German year-end finals, without spectators, were staged at the Schafhof when the Frankfurt show they sponsor was forced to move because of reimposed coronavirus restrictions.
