ERMELO, Netherlands, Sept. 19, 2020–Edward Gal rode Glock’s Toto Jr. to a smashing victory in the Dutch Championships Grand Prix Special Saturday, just two months after Edward debuted the son of Totilas.
Edward and the nine-year-old Hanoverian stallion (Totilas x Desperados) scored 80.681% for the win. Edward withdrew Glock’s Zonik, his top team mount, from the championships. The medals will be decided from the 12 combinations moving from the Special to the Freestyle scheduled for Sunday.
Hans Peter Minderhoud, Edward’s partner and stable mate, was second on Glock’s Dream Boy on 76.489%. The pair were on the Netherlands’ team at the 2018 World Equestrian Games and the 2019 European Championships. Marlies van Baalen on Ben Johnson was third on 73.426%.
