The 2020 Nürnberger Burg-Pokal, the world renowned German series for seven- to nine-year-old dressage horses, will begin in mid-June with six new qualification competitions added for a total of 12 to make up for a late start because of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Gestüt Sprehe in Essen-Herbergen June 10-14 will kick off the 29th year of the series to qualify for the final in Frankfurt at Christmastime.

The original series was to have launched at Hagen’s Horses & Dreams in late April as the unofficial start of the German outdoor season. However, the coronavirus pandemic led to widespread lockdowns throughout the country that caused cancellation of the first six events.
