LEXINGTON, Kentucky, Sept. 11, 2019–Carly Weilminster is the new United States Equestrian director of communications and public relations based at the federation head office in Lexington.
Carly, 27 years old, has worked in equestrian sport for the past five years, most recently overseeing management and development of communication and marketing initiatives for events at the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center, including the Winter Equestrian Festival of jumpers and hunters, Global Dressage Festival, Tryon International Equestrian Center, International Polo Club Palm Beach, Colorado Horse Park and Central Park Horse Show.
She was national press officer at the World Equestrian Games in Tryon in 2018 and a press officer at the Pan American Games in Lima, Peru ths summer.
“It is an honor to accept this position with US Equestrian and I am looking forward to exploring new, innovative opportunities to promote our sport within the ever-changing media landscape of the global sporting industry,” said Carly who is from Ellicott City, Maryland. “I have been a passionate equestrian my entire life and am thoroughly motivated to generate positive and engaging visibility for our athletes, members and federation.”
Her responsibilities include strategic development and implementation of multi-discipline, member-driven content and communication campaigns, as well as oversight and management of the federation’s day-to-day communications and public relations duties.
Carly has been an equestrian for more than 20 years and competes in amateur jumper divisions. She played lacrosse at Boston College, where she graduated with a degree in communications.
