KHARKIV, Ukraine, Sept. 7, 2019–Inna Logutenkova of Ukraine on Fleraro won the World Cup Grand Prix Freestyle Saturday for the second victory in two starts this year that put her atop the standings in Western Europe where she is campaigning to go to the final in Las Vegas next April.
Hanna Karasiova of Belarus on Zodiak was runnerup but earned enough points to give her the lead in Central Europe which gets to send two rider and horse combinations to the annual world championships of dressage and jumping April 15-19.
Inna and Fleraro, the 16-year-old Danish Warmblood gelding, scored 75.730% for the win and added to a victory in May gave her enough points to put her in the lead in the Western European League where she has based herself. The Western Europe series of 11 events launches in Denmark next month, but limited points can be earned in other leagues, as Inna has done.
Hanna Karasiova and Zodiak, an 11-year-old Latvian gelding, were awarded 74.240% for second place. The pair have competed through young horse events to the World Cup Final in Paris in 2018.
Olga Safronova, also of Belarus, and Sandro D Amour, 11-year-old Oldenburg gelding that won the Grand Prix Friday, were third on a personal best 74.125%.
The results for the two Belarus riders boosted them to the top two places in the Central European standings, Hanna Karasiova on 52 points and Olga Safronova on 50 points, up from fifth place where they had been tied. Russia’s Regina Isachkina is ranked third on 49 points.
This was the 10th of 16 Central European qualifiers with the next scheduled at this same venue next week.
