NORTH SALEM, New York, Aug. 3, 2018–Callie Jones and Don Philippo won the North American Young Rider Championship individual gold Friday two days after topping the team competition.
Callie and the 10-year-old Hanoverian gelding posted a personal best 72.206 per cent in her third North American championship on her Don Philippo–two at young rider and one as a junior.
The 20-year-old rider of Henderson, Kentucky and Don Philippo were among a group of three American young riders that competed in Europe over the summer, in the Young Rider Nations Cup at Hagen, Germany as well as at Compiègne, France and Aachen, Germany.
Canada’s Beatrice Boucher on Delfiano, a member of the Quebec/Alberta gold medal team, placed second on 71.029 per cent. The USA Region 1 combination of Kayla Kadlubek on Perfect Step were third on 70.765 per cent.
