EBREICHSDORF, Austria, April 2, 2018–Lisa-Maria Klössinger and Daktari won the Wiener Neustadt CDI3* Grand Prix Freestyle Monday for their first double victory since the German pair’s gold medal performances at the 2017 European Under-25 Championships. Benjamin Werndl on Daily Mirror also posted a double in taking the Grand Prix Special.

Lisa-Maria and the 13-year-old German Sport Horse gelding scored 76.775 per cent for the victory, after capturing the Grand Prix on Saturday.

Compatriot Benjamin Werndl on Der Hit was second on 73.650 per cent with Luxembourg’s Sascha Schulz third on 72.975 per cent.

Lisa-Maria and Daktari have been partnered since young riders in 2012 and won European Young Rider team gold and individual and freestyle silvers in 2014.

The pair led Germany to team gold at the 2017 European Under-25 Championship, took individual silver but the freestyle was canceled because of equipment failure. Lisa-Maria and Daktari competed in two Big Tour tournaments in 2017 and at Nice, France a month ago won the CDI3* Grand Prix Freestyle.

Benjamin Werndl and Daily Mirror, a 14-year-old Westfalen gelding, won the Grand Prix Special on a score of 73.255 per cent, a day after winning the Grand Prix for the pair’s first victory.

Austria’s Ulrike Prunthaller on Bartlgut’s Quebec was second on 73.021 per cent with Spain’s Borja Carrascosa on Ein Traum third on 72.277 per cent.
