ACHLEITEN, Austria, June 5, 2015–Victoria Max-Theurer on Blind Date on Friday won the CDI4* Grand Prix qualifying for the Special with the USA’s Allison Brock on Rosevelt placing second with a personal best score.
Vici and the 13-year-old mare she began competing internationally at this same Max-Theurer family show exactly three years ago scored 73.920 per cent for the 15th victory without interruption since this same show in 2014. All of the shows have been in Austria except for one at the family’s German stud at Cappeln.
Allison and the impressive 13-year-old Hanoverian stallion scored 73.180 per cent that surpassed their previous best Grand Prix score of 72.200 per cent notched at the Adequan Global Dressage Festival CDIO3* Nations Cup in Wellington, Florida two months ago.
Four of the five judges placed Vici and Blind Date first while Austria’s Elisabeth Koffmahn placed Allison and Rosevelt first with the American pair’s highest score, 74.600 per cent. The lowest score for Allison and Rosevelt was 71.500 per cent from Gary Rockwell of the United States.
Ally and Rosevelt began their Grand Prix career almost two years ago and after time out of competition with injuries to the horse have shone this year with top finishes throughout the winter circuit in Wellington and a pair of fifth places at their first European show in Munich, Germany three weeks ago.
The runner-up placing for Allison and the stallion owned by Claudine and Fritz Kundrun came a few hours after Steffen Peters on Rosamunde won the Grand Prix to qualify for the Freestyle in what is the last event on the month-long European schedule of shows in preparation for the Pan American Games in Toronto next month.
