VERDEN, Germany, Aug. 5, 2026–Einfach Imposant B, a Hanoverian gelding ridden by Kira Laura Soddemann, won the World Young Horse first qualification for 5-year-olds in a German sweep of the top five places Thursday.
Kira and -Einfach Imposant B (Escolar x Westernhagen 15) scored 89.000% marks of 9 for walk, submission and perspective, 8.8 for trot and 8.7 for canter.
Ellen Richter on the German Sport Horse gelding DSP Lord Löwenherz von Bellin (Lord Europe x United) were awarded 87.800%, including 9.8 for trot that was the highest mark for that gait in the starting lineup of 47 representing 20 nations. The pair also chalked up 7.7 for walk, 8.7 for canter and submission and 9 for perspective.
Alina Schneider on the Oldenburg mare Weihe’s Happiness OLD (Dynamic Dreams x Sir Donnerhall I) placed third on 87.200% with 9.3 for trot, 8.8 for walk and perspective, 8.5 for canter and 8.2 submission.
USA’s Laura De Cesari and the Dutch-bred stallion VP Ice Man (Monte Carlo TC x Ziesto) scored 77.600% with 8.2 for trot, 7.2 walk, 8 canter, 7.6 submission and 7.8 perspective.
