VERDEN, Germany, Aug. 5, 2026–Bettina Jaeger of Denmark rode Faustino G to victory Wednesday in the opening qualification for six-year-old horses at the World Breeding Championships.
Bettina and Faustino, a stallion (Farrell x Sezuan) were awarded 92.600% with 9.7 for trot, 8.5 walk, 9.3 canter, 9.5 submission and 9.3 perspective.
Merita Hagren, also of Denmark, on the mare Dizzy (Hesselhøj Donkey Boy x Blue Hors Zack) scored 89.200% for runner-up. Dizzy received 9s for trot, walk and perspective with a pair 8.8s for canter and submission.
Germany’s Beatrice Arturi on the stallion Sir Gribaldi (Secret x All Inclusive) placed third on 88.200% with 8.6 for trot, 8.7 walk, 8.9 canter, 9 submission and 8.9 perspective.
Isabell Werth on V-Power a stallion by her German team horse Viva Gold OLD and Fidertanz also scored 88.200% but placed 4th with 9.5 for trot, 7.2 walk, 9.7 canter, 8.8 submission and 8.9 perspective.
