OTTAWA, Ontario, May 29, 2015–Canada’s World Games partnership of Megan Lane and Caravella won the CDI3* Grand Prix Friday with a personal best score and strengthened the hold on their second place in Equine Canada’s Pan American Games Big Tour standings.
Megan and the 14-year-old KWPN mare scored 71.640 per cent that surpassed their previous best Grand Prix result of 71.020 per cent logged at the Adequan Global Dressage Festival in Wellington, Florida in January, 2014.
Jacqueline Brooks on D Niro placed second on 70.680 per cent and Christilot Boylen on Drentano was third on 70.020 per cent.
The result in the last of the competitions to qualify for Canada’s team at the Pan American Games in Toronto in mid-July solidified the second place standing of the 23-year-old Megan and the horse she competed in the North American Junior Rider Championships in 2009 and has moved up the ranks to compete on Nations Cups and rode for her country at the World Equestrian Games in Normandy last year.
Belinda Trussell on Anton, who did not compete here, is atop the Pan Am standings.
The Grand Prix Special whose scores can count in the four best required for qualifying is scheduled for Saturday.
