WELLINGTON, Florida, Mar. 6, 2015–European riders brought over to help promote dressage swept the international Young Rider team test Friday while Germany’s 14-year-old Junior Felicitas Hendricks posted her sixth straight victory at the Adequan Global Dressage Festival.

Dutch riders Dana Van Lierop on Equestricons Walkuere on a score of 73.816 per cent and Rosalie Bos on Equestricons Bolita on 71.316 per cent placed first and second in the Young Rider team test with Germany’s Vivien Niemann on Don Vertino on 70.605 per cent placing third.

Felicitas Hendricks, out of Germany for the first time, won the Junior team test on Faible AS with a score of 70.811 per cent over Belgium’s Antonio Arl on Equestricons Ziggy in second on 70.730 per cent and Wellington-based Juan Matute, Jr. of Spain on Dhannie Ymas in third on 70.405 per cent.

The riders said the horses may have been affected by humidity that is unusually high for winter that accompanied temperatures of 82F (27C) but would spend the next week training for the Florida Youth International Championships scheduled for the World Cup event at the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center next weekend.

Both Antonio Arl and Vivien Niemann are regulars in Florida with their parents during the winter but the two Dutch riders are here for the first time.

Dana Van Lierop said, “I love it. It’s so beautiful. The farms here are so amazing.”

Rosalie Bos said of her experience, “Wellington is just a dream for riders. Everything is… just finished.”

For Felicitas who came here with her mother who is related to the Koschel family in Hagen, she has yet to finish out of first place in six starts at Junior levels since their first CDI a month ago.
