GLADSTONE, New Jersey, Dec. 2, 2013–Jim Wolf on Monday launched a new sports marketing group after more than 20 years with the United States Equestrian Federation, most recently as Executive Director of Sports Programs.
Wolf Sports Group will provide both sports marketing and event management and logistics, focused primarily, although not exclusively, on equestrian sports.
The company’s first client is the USEF.
He will assist with implementation of logistics for U.S. team participation in the 2014 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games and serve as U.S. Chef de Mission for the WEG next summer, a role he held for the last three Games–2002 in Jerez, Spain, 2006 in Aachen, Germany and 2010 in Lexington, Kentucky and was co-chef de mission at the 1998 Rome WEG.
“I have devoted my entire career to helping equestrian sports and furthering its growth,” Jim said. “That is not going to change. I remain committed to the USEF and will continue to work with them and help them with sponsorships. I do believe, however, that in my new capacity I will be in a better position to do more for our sport and I look forward to the new challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.”
Jim was the U.S. Equestrian Team/USEF’s Director of Eventing Activities from 1993 to 2004. He was Team Leader for the U.S. Eventing Teams at the 1994, 1998 and 2002 World Equestrian Games; 1995 and 1999 Pan American Games; 1996, 2000 and 2004 Olympic Games; and 1997 European Open Championships. He also served as chef de mission for the U.S. equestrian delegation at the 1995, 1999, 2003, 2007 and 2011 Pan American Games and the 1996, 2000, 2004, 2008 and 2012 Olympic Games.
Jim, 50, lives in New Jersey and he and his wife, Molly, have a young daughter, Josselyn.
