PERL-BORG, Germany, July 21–Isabell Werth and Bella Rose made it four wins in four CDI starts in capturing the Grand Prix Special at the Peterhof Dressur Gala CDI4* Sunday while Great Britain’s Michael Eilberg and Half Moon Delphi were runnersup with a personal best as the pair head toward their first European Championships next month.
Isabell and the nine-year-old Westfalen mare (Belissimo M x Cacir AA) scored 77.938 per cent in the Special after posting 76.277 per cent in the Grand Prix Friday. Since their first CDI Grand Prix at Munich two months ago, the pair now have logged four wins in their four starts.
Michael Eilberg and the 11-year-old British-bred gray mare (Dimaggio x West Wall) who have been selected for Britain’s team for the European Championships in Herning, Denmark next month, posted 73.854 per cent that surpassed their previous best of 73.133 per cent the pair posted in their first CDI Grand Prix Special 17 months ago which was also their sole victory at this level so far. Michael and Half Moon Delphi placed third in the Grand Prix on 71.745 per cent.
Switzerland’s Marcela Krinke-Susmelj and Smeyers Molberg were third in the Special on 72.708 per cent. Germany’s Nadine Capellmann and Girasole were fourth in the Special on 71.958 per cent after finishing second on 72.915 per cent in the Grand Prix.
Mikala Gundersen of Denmark, based in Wellington, Florida and My Lady scored 69.688 per cent for fifth place in the Special, also a personal best for the pair that have partnered at Grand Prix since February, 2012. The pair were awarded 68.043 per cent to place eighth in the Grand Prix.
The USA’s Susan Dutta, also of Wellington, placed ninth on Currency DC with 67.417 per cent after posting 66.851 per cent in the Grand Prix.
