HARTPURY, England, July 7–Michael Eilberg posted a personal best score on Half Moon Delphi to win the Grand Prix Special at the Hartpury Festival of Dressage CDI3* Sunday, and wrapped up a sweep of the small tour by claiming the Intermediaire Freestyle on Woodlander Dornroscher.
Michael and the 11-year-old British-bred gray mare (Dimaggio x West Wall) scored 74.583 per cent, surpassing their previous best Special score of 73.133 per cent their pair posted in their first international show at Vidauban, France in February, 2012 which also was their only other victory in 18 starts.
Daniel Watson and Fiberamber, on the British team that won the Nations Cup at Rotterdam CDIO5* two weeks ago, were second on 67.188 per cent with Lisa Hopkins and Walkman BC in third place on 65.792 per cent while Alice Openheimer and Headmore Delegate, placed fourth on 64.938 per cent. Four combinations started the class.
Michael Eilberg and Woodlander Dornroschen won the Intermediaire Freestyle with a score of 79.075 per cent after taking the Intermediare I on 74.263 and the Prix St. Georges on 74.316 per cent. All three results were personal bests for Michael and the 11-year-old Hanoverian mare bred in Britain. The pair began their international small tour history at the same Vidauban event as Half Moon Delphi began his Grand Prix career.
