ACHLEITEN, Austria, June 8–Victoria Max-Theurer rode Augustin OLD in their first competition since last summer’s Olympics to capture the Grand Prix at the Achleiten CDI3* while the USA’s Tina Konyot and Calecto V were runnerup in their first European show since the London Games.
Vici and the 13-year-old Oldenburg stallion (August der Starke x Rohdiamant) scored 76.532 per cent for the win in the Grand Prix to qualify for the Special.
The result of 72.021 per cent for Tina of Palm City, Florida put her in second place despite a mistake in the zig zag, but ahead of Marcela Krinke Susmelj of Switzerland and Smeyer’s Molberg on 71.298 per cent.
Tina and the 15-year-old Danish Warmblood stallion (Come Back II x Rastell) have been named to the United States Nations Cup team at the World Equestrian Festival in Aachen, Germany at the end of the month.
She was one of several top American combinations to be awarded grants train and compete in Europe this summer ahead of the World Equestrian Games in Normandy in 2014.
In addition to the 2012 Olympics, Tina and Calecto were members of the United States team at the 2010 WEG in Kentucky.
Vici and Blind Date won the Freestyle with a score of 75.125 per cent with Marcel Krinke Susmelj n Meyer’s Lazander in second on 74.050 per cent and Germany’s Stefanie Weihermüller on Fantoms in third on 71.350 per cent.
