WEST PALM BEACH, Florida, Jan. 24–Lisa Wilcox and Pikko Del Cerro HU won their first outing in a CDI Grand Prix Thursday while Mikala Gundersen and My Lady and Cheryl Meisner and Tango advanced to the World Dressage Masters CDI5*.
Lisa and the U.S.-bred 10-year-old Hanoverian stallion by Pik L scored 69.574 per cent but as it was their first CDI Grand Prix they could not move on to the fifth annual WDM CDI5* that starts Friday.
Canada’s David Marcus and Don Kontes placed second on 67.532 per cent, but he is already entered on his Olympic mount Chrevi’s Capital.
Mikala, a Florida-based Dane, and My Lady were third on 67.234 per cent that gave them the two qualifying scores necessary to move up to the 5* as did Cheryl Meisner and Tango who finished seventh on 64.957 per cent.
Prior to the start of Thursday’s Grand Prix, Van the Man was re-presented after failing to pass the veterinary examination Wednesday. The horse was failed again.
