FORT WORTH, Texas, April 9, 2026–Becky Moody rode her home-bred Jagerbomb to victory in the World Cup Grand Prix Thursday night with USA’s Christian Simonson on Indian Rock placing second.
The result for Becky and the 12-year-old. British-bred gelding on a score of 76.761% was in her first World Cup Final.
The British pair that had never competed outside Europe before coming to this Texas city and its Western lifestyle had ridden on her nation’s medal-winning teams at the 2024 Olympics and the 2025 European Championships.
The 23-year-old Christian Simonson in his first senior championship rode Indian Rock, a 13-year-old Dutch-bred stallion, to a score of 75.413% for runner-up. He is the first American to rank so highly in the World Cup since Laura Graves on Verdades placed second to Isabell Werth on Weihegold OLD in Gothenberg, Sweden in 2019.
Sweden’s Patrik Kittel on Touchdown, a 14-year-old Swedish gelding on which he captured the 2024 World Cup, placed third on 72.869%.
Becky said that Jagerbomb arrived in Fort Worth after his first flight “quite nice and pingy.”
“And he has been super cool to work with all week. I actually kept it pretty chilled until yesterday and then did a little more of a training session with him and he felt really good today.
“I had that nice balance of energy but with relaxation as well so you know a good test. I always say he’s a horse he’s not exceptional at anything he’s just really good at everything, and so you know he’s just a joy to ride in an arena like that.
“It was an amazing crowd, they were so enthusiastic which was was really cool for him because he loves that as well. So the more people cheer the better he is.”
Christian, based in Wellington, Florida where he is coached by three-time Olympian Adrienne Lyle, described the experience as “a bit surreal to see and say that I’m here at a World Cup Final when we get to be here with two people that I really admire and have watched for so long.”
Rocky, as he calls Indian Rock, “was amazing tonight, he is a horse that is just so dependable.
“I love him so much. I think he and I have such a good bond together.
“And the crowd really was special tonight. Going around the ring, I could hear people chanting and screaming, which I think is really fun for the sport. And it’s an honor to represent my country here, to be a Zen rider. It was a really, really fun night.”
