KRONENBERG, Netherlands, Dec. 3, 2022–Patrik Kittel, Sweden’s three-time Olympian, rode Delaunay OLD for the win in the Peelbergen CDI3* Grand Prix Freestyle Saturday.
Patrik and the 16-year-old Oldenburg gelding scored 76.410% as the pair complete eight years at Big Tour. Since their first Grand Prix start in December 2014, the pair have competed at the 2017 European Championships and the 2019 World Cup Final.
Devenda Dijkstra of the Netherlands on the 10-year-old KWPN gelding were second on a personal best 74.280% in only the duo’s third Big Tour competition since graduating from the Under-25 division in September 2021.
Karen Nijvelt also of the Netherlands and Elysias, a 13-year-old KWPN gelding, were third on 73.015%.
