HAGEN, Germany, April 24, 2022–Susan Pape of Great Britain on V-Plus won the Nürnberger Burg-Pokal Prix St. Georges at Horses & Dreams Sunday to qualify for the year-end final for Germany’s Small Tour. Sönke Rothenberger on the eight-year-old stallion Fendi captured the Louisdor Prize qualifier for developing Grand Prix.

Susan, based in Germany, and the eight-year-old Oldenburg stallion (Vivaldi x Fuerst Romancier) were awarded 74.268% for the win. V-Plus was bought by Harmony Sporthorses of Kiowa, Colorado for €1.2/US$1.295 million at the 2018 P.S.I. auction. Susan won bronze on the horse as a five-year-old at the Germany young horse championships, and also competed in the World Young Horse Championships the same year.

V-Plus started this year in Wellington, Florida winning the CDI2* St. Georges with 71.912%.

Germany’s Frederic Wandres and Dolciario, an eight-year-old Hanoverian gelding (Danciano x Don Frederico), placed second on 74.097%.

Dolciario that was competed at the World Young Horse Championships as a six-year-old by Eva Niklova of the Czech Republic, also began this year in Wellington. Frederic and the horse owned by Hof Kasselmann led the German team to gold in this year’s CDIO3* Nations Cup of mixed Big and Small Tour horses.

Sönke and Fendi, a Danish Warmblood stallion (Franklin x Diamond) owned by the Rothenberger family scored 76.680% for the Louisdor Prize victory to claim a start in the final of developing Grand Prix horses.

The 27-year-old Sönke is best known for German team gold medal performances on Cosmo, a KWPN gelding, at the 2016  Olympics, the 2018 World Equestrian Games, the 2017 and 2019 European Championships as well as the 2014 European Young Rider Championships.

Frederic Wandres on Harrods placed second on 72.765%. Frederic and the nine-year-old Hanoverian gelding (Hochadel x Rotspon) owned by  Hof Kasselmann made their international competition debut in Wellington last year.
