HAGEN, Germany, April 23, 2022–German team partnership of Frederic Wandres and Duke of Britain FRH posted a personal best score for the second day to win the Horses & Dreams CDI4* Grand Prix Freestyle Saturday night.
Frederic and the 15-year-old British-bred Hanoverian gelding, scored 83.630% for the first win in almost two years. The result was the best since scoring 82.855% at the same show a year ago. Frederic and Duke of Britain posted a personal best to place second in the Grand Prix in their pursuit of a start in the world championships in Herning, Denmark in August.
The Netherlands’ Dinja van Liere and the 10-year-old Hermès placed second on 82.760% after winning the Grand Prix.
Denmark’s Daniel Bachmann Andersen on Marshall-Bell, a 10-year-old Danish Warmblood gelding, was awarded 80.515% for third as they were in the Grand Prix.
Anna Buffini and Davinia la Douce had the pair’s best result and highest placing in Europe with a score of 78.350% for fourth place.
Anna of Rancho Sante Fe, California, and the 15-year-old Hanoverian mare competed in their first World Cup Final two weeks ago and in 2021 competed at three premier events in Germany and Austria, including the U.S. team at the Nations Cup in Aachen, Germany.
