ACHLEITEN, Austria, July 24, 2026–Stefan Lehfellner who took over the ride on L’Espoir after owner partner Victoria Max-Theurer disclosed her pregnancy won the CDI3* Grand Prix at home at the Achleiten Dressage Festival Friday.
Stefan and the 11-year-old Portuguese Sport Horse gelding were awarded 69.522% for the win, his third international victory since taking over the ride last month.
Laura Strobel on Valparaiso NRW, 15-year-old Westfalen stallion, was runner-up close behind on 69.478% as German combinations filled the 2nd through 5th placings.
Yara Reichert on the 12-year-old Swedish-bred stallion Springbank II VH placed third on 68.370%.
Ellese Gundersen who had entered Quintessential, the 12-year-old gelding the rider bred and on which she won the U.S. Grand Prix Championship two months ago, withdrew before the competition.
