HAGEN, Germany, July 5, 2026–With only five weeks to the World Championships, German superstar Isabell Werth rode Wendy de Fontaine to a personal best score to capture the Nations Cup Grand Prix Special Sunday.
Isabell and the 12-year-old Danish mare on which she was a gold medalist at the Paris Olympics, scored 82.426% for a sweep of the Nations Cup having led her team to gold two days ago.
Isabell took over Wendy from Denmark’s Andreas Helgstrand with whom she is a business partner 2 1/2 years ago and since then has won 2024 Olympic and 2025 European Championship team golds.
Team mate Raphael Netz on Great Escape Camelot, 15-year-old Dutch-bred gelding, was runner-up on 74.255%.
Henri Ruoste of Finland on Tiffanys Diamond, a 14-year-old Danish-bred mare, placed third on 72.979%.
