William J. Moroney, chief executive officer of the U.S. Equestrian Federation, reported Monday he plans to retire at the end of year after 10 years in the post.
He has spent his life in the equestrian industry, including 30 years as a professional trainer. He was co-chair of USA Equestrian Pony Committee, helped found and become the first president of the US Hunter Jumper Association and became CEO of USEF in 2016.
The decision to retire this year, he explained, was because he did not want it to coincide with the end of term in 2028 of USEF President Tom O’Mara.
