WELLINGTON, Florida, Mar. 27, 2026–Murray Kessler has been terminated from Equestrian Sports Productions that manages Wellington International show grounds and is replaced immediately by long time president Michael Stone.

The termination of Kessler’s employment came after an independent investigation was made of allegations by a female employee that she had been mishandled by Kessler.

In what was described by Wellington International as a “leadership transition,” comes one day before the $1 million Rolex Grand Prix is staged at the show grounds.

Michael Stone, an experienced leader in premier equestrian sport operations in Europe as well as the United States, “assumes executive oversight” of the competition venue.

“This action comes as an independent investigation has been conducted following a situation involving Mr. Kessler,” the entity announced. “Upon learning of the matter, the organization acted immediately to support the employee who brought it forward. Consistent with company policies, steps were taken to ensure their safety and well-being.”

Murray Kessler, in a statement released after the news from Equestrian Sport, denied the allegations against and said he will “vigorously defend his name and reputation.”
“Throughout his leadership,” it said, “Mr. Kessler has played a significant role in strengthening Wellington International, elevating its profile, supporting its growth, and positioning it as one of the world’s premier equestrian venues.
“He is proud of the role he played and his contribution to a community he cares deeply about.”

Michael Stone, President of Wellington International, will assume executive oversight of operations. He has led the organization for nearly two decades.

Under Michael’s leadership, the statement said, Wellington International has grown into one of the world’s premier equestrian venues, hosting 40 weeks of competition annually, including the Winter Equestrian Festival and the Global Dressage Festival.

He was secretary general and sports director for the International Equestrian Federation based in Lausanne, Switzerland before moving to Wellington.

“I am honored to continue leading our exceptional venue and team,” Michael said. “I look forward to further strengthening our legacy alongside a best-in-class team whose talent and dedication define Wellington International as one of the world’s leading equestrian venues.”
