WELLINGTON, Florida, Mar. 14, 2026–Erin Nichols and the 17-year-old Elian Royale won the CDI3* Grand Prix Special Saturday in their first double victory in more than two years.
Erin of Yorba Linda, California and the Dutch-bred gelding scored 70.617%, the only one of 13 combinations above 70%. The duo won the Grand Prix Thursday the first leg of the double victory that they last logged in November, 2023.
Jordan LaPlaca of Leyard, Connecticut and Gold Play, 11-year-old Oldenburg gelding, were awarded 69.894% for runner-up. The pair have been selected for the U.S. team for next week’s Nations Cup.
Endel Ots of Wellington and Zen Elite’s Bohemian, the 16-year-old gelding that was competed on Denmark’s team at the Tokyo Olympics, placed third on 68.596%.
