DOHA, Qatar, Feb. 21, 2026–Carl Hester on Fame won the Al Shaqab CDI5* Grand Prix Freestyle Saturday in the first international competition for the 16-year-old stallion in six months

Carl and Fame, on Britain’s Paris Olympic bronze medal and the 2023 and 2025 European Championship teams, were awarded 82.975% for the victory.

Denmark’s Nadja Aaboe Sloth on the 14-year-old gelding Favour Gersdorf posted a personal best 80.915% to place second.

Sandra Sysojeva of Poland on Maxima Bella, 10-year-old mare, scored 79.345% for third.
