MECHELEN, Belgium, Dec. 28, 2025–Larissa Pauluis on her Belgian Olympic team mount Flambeau won the World Cup Grand Prix Sunday on a score matching the best for the partnership 14 months ago.

Larissa and the 15-year-old gelding scored 73.913% that equaled the pair’s result at a World Cup qualifier in Lyon, France in October, 2024. The  pair were placed first by four of the five judges in the fifth of 10 Western European qualifiers for the Final in Fort Worth, Texas in April.

Justin Verboomen competing the 10-year-old stallion Djembe de Hus OLD was runner up on 73.065%.

Justin is the No. 1 rider in the world on his European Championship star Zonik Plus.

João Pedro Moreira of Portugal on Drosa Fuerst Kennedy OLD, also a 10-year-old stallion, placed third on 72.544%

Larissa ranks 11th in the Western European standings with the Freestyle to determine points toward standings scheduled for Monday.
