HAGEN, Germany, June 5, 2025–Kevin Kohmann and his two-time World Cup mount Dünensee won the CDI3* Grand Prix Thursday, leading an American group of eight combinations to fill the top four places.

Kevin and the 16-year-old Hanoverian gelding scored 71.370%, the only score of the 19 riders and horses to earn at least 70% in the competition that was also considered a qualifier for the U.S. team to compete in the Nations Cup at the premier World Equestrian Festival in Aachen, Germany next month.

This was the first competition for Kevin and Dünensee since the World Cup Final in Basel, Switzerland two months ago, their second annual championship appearance. It was also only the second victory for Kevin and Dünensee in Europe, though they have been successful in their home state of Florida and elsewhere in the United States over the past three years.

Kasey Perry-Glass and Heartbeat W.P., 13-year-old KWPN gelding, was runner-up on 69.456%.

Benjamin Ebeling, like all but one of the American combinations based in Wellington, Florida and Bellena placed third on 68.739%.

Marcus Orlob and his Olympic mount Jane, 11-year-old KWPN mare, top ranked of the group of Americans, placed fourth on 68.261%. The duo came into this competition after six straight victories, including two in Germany. But they could not overcome a rear at the halt to start their class and mistake in the one-tempi changes.
