COMPIÈGNE, France, May 4, 2025–Matthias Alexander Rath on Destacado FRH won the CDIO5* Grand Prix Special while Frederic Wandres on Bluetooth OLD claimed the Freestyle Sunday after both riders were on the German team that captured the Nations Cup a day earlier.
Matthias and the 12-year-old Hanoverian stallion that has developed from a youngster scored 72.511% for the third individual victory so far this year.
Marlie van Baalen of the Netherlands on Habibi DVB, 13-year-old KWPN gelding placed second in the Special.
Carina Scholz also on Germany’s gold medal Nations Cup team with the 15-year-old stallion Blue Hors Veneziano was third on 70.617%.
Frederic Wandres on his Olympic team gold medal partner Bluetooth OLD, 15-year-old Oldenburg gelding, won the Grand Prix Freestyle on 81.240%.
French star Pauline Basquin on Sertorius de Rima Z IFCE, her 15-year-old Paris Olympic mount, was awarded 77.355% as runner-up.
Portugal’s Maria Caetano on the 13-year-old Hit Plus placed third on 76.805%.
