Jose Daniel Martin Dockx who competed for Spain at two Olympics on the United States-owned P.R.E. stallion Grandioso made the final competition ride of his career at SICAB, the Spanish International Horse Show in Seville.
The farewell performance by Daniel on the 14-year-old Purebred Spanish stallion Malagueno LXXXIII that he competed at the 2022 World Championships and the 2023 European Championships was before a packed stadium.
He took over the ride on Malagueno after the retirement from competition of Grandioso that was owned by Kymberly van Kampen, an avid breeder and promoter of P.R.E. horses in the United States.
Grandioso was competed by Daniel at the Olympics in London in 2012 and Rio de Janeiro in 2016 and the World Equestrian Games in Caen, France in 2014. The pair also competed at the Europeans in 2013 and 2015.
Daniel maintains a coaching relationship with Hampton Green Farm now based in Ocala, Florida. The breeding and development of all of the farm’s horses has been consolidated at Ocala.
