WAYNE, Illinois, Aug. 25, 2024–Adrienne Lyle rode Zaunkonig to the United States six-year-old championship Sunday, just three weeks after the rider’s third Olympics.

Adrienne of Wellington, Florida and the Westfalen stallion were awarded 87.600% for the win in the final,placed two days after placing third in the preliminary competition. The pair’s score in Sunday’s final included 9 for trot, 8 for walk, 9.2 for canter, 8.5 submission and 9.1 perspective.

Zaunkonig (Blue Hors Zack x De Niro) was bought a year ago by Heidi Humphries whose Zen Elite Equestrian Center owns Helix that Adrienne competed at the Paris Olympics as well as Lars van de Hoenderheide also competed by Adrienne and Bohemian that was the U.S. Olympic team reserve ridden by Endel Ots.

Charell Garcia of Mountain Green, Utah on MW Mercury placed second in the Final on 84.800% to clinch reserve championship.

Christopher Hickey also of Wellington who won the preliminary contest on Saskatoon OMF placed third on 83.400% in the final, and third overall.

Nora Batchelder of Williston, Florida and the nine-year-old mare Nova won the developing Grand Prix title, taking Int. II on 69.167% and the Grand Prix on 69.259% for a championship total of 69.222.

Hannah Bressler Jaques of Wellington on her Jim, 10-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding, was reserve champion on 67.761.
