ST. MARGARETHEN, Austria, June 1, 2024–Victoria Max-Theurer and Abegglen FH NRW was the clear winner of the CDI3* Grand Prix Saturday setting up the Austrian rider as likely to compete at the Paris Olympics in two months.

Victoria and the 14-year-old Westfalen gelding were awarded 73.283% for the win, the first CDI competition for the pair since the European Championships last September.

Abegglen was Victoria’s mount selected for the Tokyo Games but withdrew before competition at what would have been the rider’s fifth Olympics beginning in 2004.

Australia’s Simone Pearce on Destano, the Hanoverian stallion she competed at the Tokyo Olympics and is 17 years old, was runner-up on 72.022%. It was the best Grand Prix score for the partnership so far this year.

Austria’s Christian Schumach on on the 13-year-old Holsteiner gelding Te Quiero SF placed third on 71.478%.
