Anna Marek’s double victory on Fire Fly and the top placed North American in the World Cup Freestyle put the U.S. Pan American Games team gold medalist atop the the Global Dressage Festival prize money earnings after the first week of the winter-long circuit in Wellington, Florida.
Anna of Dunnellon, Florida earned a total of $5,100 for success among riders representing 10 nations from five continents in Global’s 14th year as the premier dressage competition in the Americas and among the top in the world.
Anna won the CDI3* Grand Prix and Special on Fire Fly, her Pan Am partner, and was the top North American on Fayvel in the musical performance that could earn her a start at the World Cup Final in three months.
Susan Pape, the Germany-based British rider who has competed at Global since 2016, earned $4,200, according to the standings compiled by DRESSAGE-NEWS.com and presented by Cunningham & Cunningham insurance.
The 23-year-old German star on her 2023 European Under-25 Championship mount Drombusch OLD collected $3,800 for victories in the World Cup Grand Prix and Freestyle.
Siena Harris-Gissler, also aged 23 of New York, ranked fourth with $2,300.
Sweden’s seven-time Olympian Tinne Vilhelmson Silfvén, competing in Florida since 2011, won $2,100 for fifth.
Kate Kyros, an Australian competing as a Young Rider and Under-25 and in Wellington for the first time, stood sixth on $2,050.
