Jessica von Bredow-Werndl and TSF Dalera BB come into 2024 maintaining the German pair’s world Grand Prix No. 1 ranking with Charlotte Dujardin on Imhotep moving up to second. USA’s Alice Tarjan on Jane stands atop the CDI2* rankings at the end of 2023.

Jessica and the 17-year-old Trakehner mare have been No. 1 in the world since a sweep of the Tokyo Olympics in July 2021 and includes the 2021 and 2023 European Championships and the World Cup Finals in Leipzig, Germany and Omaha for 30 straight victories.

Great Britain’s Charlotte Dujardin and Imhotep, 11-year-old KWPN gelding, who finished 2023 with a double win at the London World Cup, moved up to No. 2 from third at the end of November. Charlotte was out of competition on pregnancy leave from August 2022 until May in 2023.

Team mate Charlotte “Lottie” Fry was edged into third while Everdale, her Tokyo Olympic mount, jumped to fourth from 88th, boosted by runner-up placing in London and a double victory at the Mechelen, Belgium World Cup.

Denmark’s Nanna Skodborg Merrald slipped one place to fourth while Isabell Werth of Germany remained at No. 5.

Patrik Kittel of Sweden climbed one spot to No. 6 while Frederic Wandres of Germany, in Florida for the Global Dressage Festival, wasseventh.

Therese Nilshagen of Sweden moved up a place to 8th, swapping places with Carl Hester now 9th and Carina Cassøe Krüth of Denmark rounding out the top 10.

Becky Moody of Great Britain made one of the biggest leaps, up to 21st from 43rd the previous month while Belgium’s Flore de Winne went to 32nd from 67th.

Alice Tarjan and Jane, a 10-year-old KWPN mare, have been undefeated in nine starts at Small and Medium Tours since beginning international competition in October 2022.
