KRONENBERG, Netherlands, July 28, 2023–Charlotte “Lottie” Fry and Glamourdale won the Peelbergen CDI3* Grand Prix Friday for the ninth straight victory since becoming world champions almost a year ago.
The British rider and the 12-year-old black KWPN stallion scored 79.544% as the unanimous choice for first place by all five judges though the scores were from a high of 81.304% to a low of 77.609%.
Since becoming world champions at Herning, Denmark the partnership has competed at only three events, in London last Christmas, at s’Hertogenbosch near their base at Van Olst Horses in the Netherlands in March and at Fontainbleau, France a month later. The duo qualified for the World Cup Final but the length of time required for trans-Atlantic travel and competition at Omaha ruled out the stallion participating in that championship. However, the duo is a prospect for the European Championships in nearby Riesenbeck, Germany in September.
Sweden’s Juliette Ramel on her Rio de Janeiro and Tokyo Olympic mount Buriel K.H., 17-year-old KWPN gelding, was runner-up on 75.174%.
Dinja van Liere of the Netherlands on the 11-year-old KWPN gelding Hartsuijker, was third on 74.391%.
