Jessica von Bredow-Werndl and TSF Dalera BB maintained their rankings of No. 1 rider and horse in the world after sweeping the CDIO5* at Aachen World Equestrian Festival last week and following victory in the pair’s second World Cup Final in Omaha in April.
Jessica began the year ranked second in the world while the 16-year-old Trakehner mare was No. 1 in the standing that the International Equestrian Federation (FEI) breaks into separate categories.
World champion rider Charlotte “Lottie” Fry of Great Britain was top ranked in January while her championship mount, Glamourdale, was 32nd and her Olympic partner Everdale was No. 12.
By the latest rankings, Lottie was No. 2 as was Glamourdale while Everdale that she competed in Aachen saw their ranking leap to eighth from 135th at the of May.
British team mate Charlotte Dujardin who had dropped out of the rankings as she took time out from competition to give birth to her daughter, Isabella Rose, was ranked sixth both for herself and Imhotep, the 10-year-old KWPN gelding on which she competed for high placings in three rides at Aachen.
Nanna Skodborg Merrald of Denmark and Blue Hors Zepter were both ranked third.
Isabell Werth with her German team horses Bella Rose and Weihegold OLD both retired was ranked No. 4 in the world while DSP Quantaz and Emilio were ranked fourth and fifth, respectively.
Fellow German Frederic Wandres was ranked No. 8 as a rider and Bluetooth OLD 11th and Duke of Britain FRH at 14th, up from 136th at the end of May.
Steffen Peters of San Diego, California was the top ranked American rider at No. 12 and Suppenkasper, his 2018 World Equestrian Games and Tokyo Olympic team silver medal horse Suppenkasper at 13th.
