HAGEN, Germany, June 13, 2023–Daniel Bachmann Andersen on Zippo M.I. won the CDI3* Grand Prix Special Tuesday for the first double victory for the Danish duo a day after capturing the Grand Prix. USA’s Sarah Tubman and First Apple placed third on a personal best score.
Daniel and the 11-year-old Danish Warmblood gelding were awarded 72.574% for the win in the Special.
Germany’s Senta Kirchoff on L’Arbuste OLD, 13-year-old Oldenburg gelding, was runner-up on 72.128%, the highest placing for the partnership that competed in the World Young Horse Championships in 2017.
Sarah Tubman and the 13-year-old KWPN stallion First Apple scored a personal best 71.979% for third place.
Sarah, based in Wellington, Florida, and First Apple are competing in Europe for the second year since starting Big Tour following the pair’s 2019 Pan American Games gold medal performances at Small Tour.
