OLOMOUC, Czech Republic, May 13, 2023–Justina Vanagaite and Nabab won the World Cup Grand Prix Freestyle Saturday on a second straight personal best score to open the Lithuanian’s pursuit of a second Final.
In the first of 12 events in Central Europe, Justina and the 10-year-old Belgian Warmblood gelding were awarded 79.255%, a day after posting a personal best in the Grand Prix. The win earns the duo the maximum of 20 points. Central Europe gets to send two rider and horse combinations in a total 18 for the next Final in Saudi Arabia
The 33-year-old Justina and Nabab gave a crowd-rousing performance at Omaha a month ago. The degree of difficulty in this latest Freestyle was awarded more than nine points by all five judges.
The pair competed at the World Championships last summer before the Omaha Final.
Diana Porsche of Austria on Douglas, 15-year-old KWPN gelding, was runner-up Saturday on 75.750%.
