HAGEN, Germany, April 21, 2023–Frederic Wandres and Bluetooth OLD, in the first competition since an undefeated winter in Florida, won the Horses & Dreams CDI4* Grand Prix Friday with a personal best score.
Frederic, a German team rider, and the 13-year-old Oldenburg gelding scored 76.065% for the victory, the seventh in seven starts this year, including the top rated Wellington CDI5*.
Frederic is the rider for Hof Kasselmann that is the owner of Bluetooth and organizer of this event.
Denmark’s Nanna Skodborg Merrald and Blue Hors Don Olymbrio, 15-year-old KWPN stallion, was runner-up on 74.565%.
Nanna was reserve champion on Blue Hors Zepter at the World Cup Final in Omaha earlier this month and rode Blue Hors Zack on the 2022 world championship gold medal team.
Fellow Dane Daniel Bachmann Andersen on the 12-year-old stallion Vayron was third on 74.152%
The overwhelming spectator favorite with 80.500% approval was Evelyn Eger on the 18-year-old Westminster, that’s also owned by Hof Kasselmann that placed sixth. Evelyn works with Frederic and took over the ride from him in 2022.
