Glamourdale will not go to the World Cup in Omaha, according to reports, so there will not be a much anticipated contest with TSF Dalera BB.
“Glamourdale is not going to Omaha,” Gert-Jaan van Olst, whose Van Olst Horses owns the 12-year old KWPN stallion was quoted by Eurodressage.
“We can’t miss him that long from breeding duty. As a matter of fact, Omaha was never our focal point.”
Horses headed from Europe for the World Cup Final fly out on March 30 and arrive in Omaha the following morning. The World Cup is scheduled April 4-8 so Glamourdale would be away from breeding for at least 10 days at the peak of the season.
Glamourdale is Van Olst’s most popular breeding stallion and the flagship sire of its stud.
The horse was ridden by Charlotte “Lottie” Fry to individual and Freestyle gold medals at last summer’s world championships as well as victories in London and ‘s-Hertigenbosch, Netherlands World Cup qualifiers, enough to earn an invitation to Omaha.
Charlotte competed in four qualifiers but as she rode only Glamourdale in two required events that was the only horse on which she could be invited to Omaha.
Jessica von Bredow-Werndl of Germany and TSF Dalera BB are the World Cup championship partnership from 2022 so are automatically entered for this year’s Final.
Eurodressage reported that Gert-Jan does not want to disclose summer plans for Lottie and Glamourdale though the World Equestrian Festival CHIO at Aachen, Germany and the European Championships also in Germany are considered possibilities that could see the pair meet Jessica and Dalera in the competition arena.
