WELLINGTON, Florida, Feb. 25, 2023–Alice Tarjan and Candescent won the CDI3* Grand Prix Special for the first successful outing in almost two years.
Alice of Oldwick, New Jersey and the 13-year-old Hanoverian mare scored 72.638% for the win.
The only previous Big Tour victory for the partnership was in Wellington in 2021.
Candescent is one of three horses she has developed from youngsters to have at international Grand Prix. On the American-bred Serenade MF she appears to have been successful in earning one three starting places for North America at the World Cup Final in Omaha in early April.
Anne Marek of Dunnellon, Florida and Fire Fly, a 13-year-old KWPN gelding, placed second on 70.234%.
Belgium’s Laurence Vanommeslaghe and the 16-year-old Hanoverian gelding Havalon were third on 68.809%.
