RANDBØL, Denmark, Nov. 11, 2022–Nanna Merrald Rasmussen returned Blue Hors Don Olymbrio to the international arena exactly a year after the last appearance for an identical result of victory in the CDI3* Grand Prix Friday.
The biggest changes for the 29-year-old Danish rider in the year have been a world championship team gold medal (on Blue Hors Zack) and the addition of Rasmussen to her name through marriage.
Nanna’s ride Friday–only the second CDI on the 14-year-old Don Olymbrio, a KWPN stallion, earned the pair 74.261% to lead a Danish sweep of the top five places.
Charlotte Heering on Bufranco, a 14-year-old KWPN gelding, on 71.478% for runner-up.
Anna Zibrandtsen on the 11-year-old Oldenburg gelding Quel Filou placed third on 70.739%.
Joachim Thomsen on the 14-year-old Aaroe’s Gandhi was fourth on 69.652%.
Daniel Bachmann Andersen, Don Olymbrio’s rider from 2016 through 2019, placed fifth on 69.174% on Vayron, an 11-year-old Westfalen gelding.
