LEEUWARDEN, Netherlands, Oct. 15, 2022–World Championship bronze medal partnership of Dinja van Liere and Hermes won the CDI3* Grand Prix Freestyle Saturday while Sönke Rothenberger was runnerup in the Big Tour debut of the eight-year-old Fendi.
Dinja and the 10-year-old KWPN stallion scored 82.655% for the victory in the first competition since the world championships two months ago where the air won both individual and freestyle bronzes.
Sönke and Fendi, a Danish Warmblood stallion, were awarded 78.015% for second.
Sönke Rothenberger debuted the eight-year-old Danish Warmblood stallion Fendi at Big Tour for third place on 71.543%. The pair were third in the Grand Prix.
Sönke rode Cosmo on German gold medal teams at the 2016 Olympics, the 2018 World Equestrian Games and the 2017 and 2019 European Championships.
Charlotte Fry, of Great Britain and Lars van de Hoenderheide, 11-year-old Belgian Warmblood gelding, also competing in their first Big Tour competition, was third on 77.020%.
