WAYNE, Illinois, Aug. 28, 2022–Adrienne Lyle, with Tokyo Olympic and 2018 world championship team silver medals on Salvino, competed in the U.S. Young Horse Championships for the first time winning both the four- and five-year-old titles while coaching assistant Quinn Iverson on Beckham to the Under-25 title and fellow team rider Katie Dueehammer on Paxton to reserve at Grand Prix.

Alice Tarjan was reserve to Adrienne in both young horse classes while also capturing her second Grand Prix title, this year on Serenade MF on which she was a reserve at the world championships in Herning earlier this month to wrap up the week-long Festival of Champions.

Adrienne of Wellington, Florida and Fürst Dream, a Hanoverian stallion (Fürstenball OLD x Benetton Dream FRH) won the four-year-old division on a score of 92.920 and topped the five-year-old lineup on Valor (Vitalis x Fürstenball OLD) with 92.480.

She credited Quinn with keeping the horses fit and ready to compete just days after returning from Europe with Salvino on the team that earned a start for the USA at the 2024 Olympics in Paris. Fürst Dream is owned by Betsy Juliano, the owner of Salvino.

Alice of Oldwick, New Jersey, rode her Ice Princess, an Oldenburg mare by Asgard’s Ibiza, to runner-up on 89.760.

Valor is owned by Kylee Lourie, who also owns Quartett that Katie Duerrhammer rode on the Herning world championship team as well as Paxton on which Katie placed second in the Grand Prix championship.

Alice and Ireland’s Eden (Ierland x IPS Krack C) was second on 88.480.

After championship rides, Adrienne said: “For me, what I find joy in is developing the horses from a young age and the whole process of training. So, to have owners that are on that same mindset is really exciting. They have to be willing to be in it for the long haul. They’re buying these young horses, knowing they’re not going to be doing something for a while, at least not something at the top level. But I think they share the excitement and the training process, and that’s what makes it work for everybody.”
